Penny Stock News: Take With a
Grain of Salt
The diligent penny stock
investor is one who makes it a point to be constantly
updated with penny stock news. That is a given. However, not
all newsletters may be doling out the right information, and
may in fact, be misleading for one reason or another.
Before you move in accordance with the information stated in
penny stock news, check the newsletter’s disclaimer. Here you
will find the specific amount that it is being paid to endorse
the profile. An important consideration is if they are being
paid in cash or shares. If they are paid in shares, be wary of
a direct correlation between the shares they are paid and that
particular stock’s hype rating. Now this does not mean that you
should avoid investing in that certain stock- by all means do,
if this is a fresh piece of news. But keep in mind that they
are similar to a paid endorser and are selling that same story
to many other shareholders. If you are at the bottom of the
line, it will be a problem for you.
Credibility can be measured in its previous records. Has
anybody who has been following this newsletter ever come out as
a winner? Is this particular source of penny stock news known
to be a factual source of information or a trove of stock
gossip? If they are known to offer unpaid stock profiles, it
may be a good sign because it means that they look into all the
companies, and not just the ones that are paying them well to
push their stock.
Naturally, most penny stock news sources are being paid to
profile certain stocks to their readers. That is the reality,
and the reason they are also able to stay afloat financially.
It is akin to a radio station paid to advertise and to place
certain songs on their playlist. So it doesn’t mean you should
disbelieve all the information given- just that you should take
everything with a grain of salt. Know how to separate facts
from blown-up hype. Take note of little details in the profiles
that may be helpful to you in buying and advertising new stock.
And don’t limit yourself to a single source, check trends and
common factors in various penny stocks newsletters to ensure
that you aren’t just being misled by one particularly zealous
endorser.
